SBD Welcome Baby Bear Stamps

Hello there, Ali here today and I’m sharing another card using sunshine and bee’s baby bear stamp set. I was so inspired by Verity’s post on how she used the small stamps from the Just Because stamp set to create a complete new look that I wanted to try it with the baby bear stamp set. 

This stamp set has a variety of small images that could be used to create a scene, backgrounds or in anyway you’d like without having to use the main image. I decided to use the teddy image to create a background as well as a focal image. 

TUTORIAL: 

Starting with the background. I stamped and clear embossed the teddy many times in various positions on to some Neenah Desert Storm card stock and inked around the edges using brushed corduroy distress ink to create a slight vignette. Then I splattered some diluted black and white gauche paint onto the background for more interest. 

I stamped out the teddy several times on to some white stamping paper and coloured them in using my tri-blend spectrum noir Markers in Tan Blend (TN1,TN2,TN4), and defining the faces using my black detailing pen. Then I fussy cut four bears out and placed some foam dots on the back to adhere them on to my background. I had die cut out the word BABY using my alphabet bunting die from a copper metallic card stock, using only the letters to adhere on to each of the bear’s bodies and adding some small bow ties which I had cut apart from some butterfly fimo slices from my stash to add a little bit of colour. 

 

I then made a frame out of a vintage writing pattern paper using my A6 Stitched Nesting dies and mounted the frame onto the card front. Then, finishing off the card with a white embossed sentiment over the teddies and then I add the card onto an A6 kraft card base. 

I made this baby card with a vintage twist as I wanted to step away from the typical pastel colours, also I wanted to keep it neutral and easy whether it’s for a baby girl or boy.
