SBD baby bear

Hello there!

I’m back to share this adorable stamp set to create a night scene baby bear card. Does it feel endless to entertain and homeschool the kids? don’t we all anticipate the early bed times just so you can do some self therapy sessions in the craft room with some junk food and a bottle of wine? Well, you’re not alone. As for those who’s kids are grown and flown...Ok, let’s get started lol.

TUTORIAL:
First I stencilled in the clouds on an A6 navy card stock with Tumbled Glass distress oxide ink using a blending brush, then I splattered some white gauche mixed with water with my medium Aqua pen on top of the clouds for a starry night scene. Once the background is dry, I then brushed in some ground espresso around the edge to create subtle and slight vignette effect.

I stamped the bear and the hat using a no line colouring ink (Ink on 3 fading Ink) I did some colouring
with my spectrum noir tri-blend markers. I used Brown Grey Blends (BG2, BG3, BG4) on the baby bear, the nightie and Hat in Lavender Blend (LV1, LV3, LV4) and the hat rim and bobble in Ice Grey (IC3, IC4). I cut out the bear and hat separately and position the hat on the bear before placing it onto the cloud background with foam tape.

The moon and stars were created using WOW melt it powder with an old moon and stars fondant silicon mould to make my own embellishments. I mixed the powder with silver, white, fine silver glitter powder for the moon and added some purple pigment powder for the stars.
Once the stars and moon is dried I brushed on some white gauche.

I then placed the embellishes in a certain way to create a baby mobile above the sleeping baby bear, but before adhering the moon with some strong acrylic glue, I wanted to add some ‘shine’ so I took my small blending brush and gently brushed some Tumbled Glass Oxide Ink in a circular motion on where the moon will be placed.

With a white colour pencil, I shaded in some highlights on the baby bear. Predicting where the light would touch for a moon beam effect and drew on some lines with a gold metallic pen linking the stars to the moon. Finishing off I Mat the card onto a grey card stock with some foam tape and mount the finished panel onto a white card base to finish off.

Thank you for stopping by, I had a very therapeutic time creating this card, I loved creating my own embellishments & I enjoyed the no line colouring on the baby bear the most. Don’t forget to follow for future ideas, inspiration & new posts.

Stay healthy & safe!
